Kiev and Wilner Societies Merge

The Landsmanschaften Coun-
cil of Detroit announces that
the Kiev Progressive Society and
the Wilner Relief organization
have merged into a new group to
be known as the Kiev and Wil-
ner Organization. The an-
nouncement was made by Harry
Kaminer, president of the Land-
smanschaf ten Council, Joseph
Gladstone. of the Wilner Relief
Organization.
"The creation of larger or-
ganizations out of the present
smaller ones in those instances

where such mergers are advis-
able and feasible, has been one
of the aims of the Landsman-
schaften Council of Detroit,"
-In recent
stated Kaminer.
years, some of the Landsman-
schaften organizations have lost
many members. To help the
weaker organizations by bring-
ing them together with other
similar groups will be of benefit
to the Landsmanschaften mem-
bers, as well as to the commun-
ity."
The new organization will
shortly elect officers to head the
group for the corning year.
