Helfgott, of West Hartford, Conn., on June 6 entertained 30 teen-age couples at DePasquale's Restaurant in Hartfoed, in honor of the 16th birthday of their younger daugh- ter, Sylria. She attended Bagley, Hampton and Mumford High Schools while the Helfgotts were former residents of Detroit re- siding on Prairie Ave. Edwain Levenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Levenberg of 186'74 Fairfield, was graduated last Saturday from the University of Michigan literary college. Attending the fourth annual conference of the National Women's Committee of Brandeis University June 16-18 were the following Detroit women: Mesdames Abraham Cooper, 1536 Chi- "eago Blvd.; Leonard Kasle, 18404 Muirland; Harvey Rattner, 25747 Hereford Rd.; Laurence Segar, 19000 Birchcrest; and Oscar Zemon, 19630 Roslyn Rd. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt was the principal speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kurzman and children, Michael and Mar- jorie, of San Francisco are visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Shapiro of Broadstreet Blvd. They attended the reunion of the family of Mrs. Henrietta Kurtman held last Sunday at the Lee Plaza Hotel. Lewis Watnick, formerly of Detroit was graduated from Loy- ola Law School with Cum Laude honors on June 15. He and his wife will visit with his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ungerleider of Pasadena Ave. They will then leave for Winnipeg, Manitoba, where they will be the guests of Mrs. Stone, the bride's mother. The family of Mrs. Henrietta Kurtzm: n of Sturtevant Ave. and the late Max Kurtzman celebrated a reunion of all the chil- dren and grandchildren at a dinner party at the Lee Plaza Hotel last Sunday. The couple were married in Detroit in 1902. Mrs. Hack, 68. was born in Poland and came to Detroit when she was 16. Her husband. 76, was born in Poland and ar- rived in Detroit in 1899. Mr. Hack is still active with his son in the Hack Sales Com- pany. There are five children. Mrs. Samuel G. Bank. Mrs. Edward Camp, Mrs. Aaron Gurwin, Mrs. Edward Weiss and Leo Hack, all of Detroit, and seven grand- children.
