Knesset- Vetoes German
1Boycott; Gets New Offer

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — Israel's
Parliament rejected attempts
la by both the right and the left
to force a full-scale debate on
. the dangers of German rearm-
- aznent.
Motions for a debate, citing
t the signing of a contractual
peace agreement between Bonn
and the Western Powers and
ending the Allied occupation of
West Germany, were filed by
Herut deputy Jochanan Bader
and Mapam representative Itz-
hak Bar Yehuda. Mr. Bader
stressed the danger of the re-
f arming of both parts of Ger-
many and proposed:
1. That Israel immediately
i suspend negotiations with the
I West. German Government • on
! reparations claims.
That Israel proclaim a

world-wide boycott of Germany
and that the Government of Is-
rael lead the Jewish nation in
this campaign.
1 3 That Israel bring to the
UN Security Council the prob-
lem of German rearmament
and explain its menace.

of his government for its fail-.
ure to act on the reparations
question.
The question whether the
negotiations can and will be
resumed depends on whether
the Bonn Government is ready
to make an offer which Israel
can accept as a basis for fur-
ther negotiations.
Dr. Goldmann expressed the
hope that "there will really be
an acceptable offer put forth to
serve as the basis for renewal
of formal negotiations." He sai
that "on the basis of Dr. Aden-
auer's promise. we look forward
to such an offer in the near
.future."
Israel Claims 'Separate'

Abs. on of the top leaders in
the way of a satisfactory settle-
ment with Israel. stated he is
willing to concede the Israel
debts should be paid in shorter
time than the commercial debts,
but reiterated his view that the
Israel claims should not be given
priority.
(The New York Times report-
ed that Abs had offered the
Jewish state a deal offering in-
itial restitution of $71.430.000
worth of goods. but delaying
overall settlement until a later
time. The offer was refused by
the Israelis.'
