Cantata to Feature Young- Israel Dinner
Leon Mutchnick, chairman of
the dinner committee for the
29th anniversary banquet of
Young Israel. to be celebrated
Sunday, May 25. at Latin Quar-
ter, announces that reservations
will be limited to assure maxi-
mum comfort for everyone pres-
ent. Those desiring accommo-
dations are urged to contact the
Young Israel office.
Mr. Mutchnick announces that
the feature of the evening, in
addition to the guest star. Can-
tor Leibele Waldman of New
York, will be the premiere of the
cantata "The Soul in Search" by
a cast of 50 from the youth
groups and adult organizations
of Young Israel. The cantata
was composed from the poem
The Beloved Soul" by Eleazar
Askari. The melody is that of
the famous Melizter Rebbe, mu-
sically adapted for the occasion
by Dan Frohman. The narration
was written by Mrs. Samuel H.
Prero, and the musical direction
is under Felix Resnick. The can-
tata is being produced by Hine]
L. Abrams, executive secretary
of Young Israel.
Assisting Mr. Mutchnick is
Meyer Eisenberg, co-chairman;
Morris H. Berris, Max Stollman,
Arnold I. Cohen and David Hor-
witz.
