Wolok-Shlain Nuptials
At Shaarey Zedek

Mrs. Seymour Kaplan, of Pleasant Dr., Ypsilanti, recently
entertained 35 members of the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Chapters
of Hadassah. Mrs. Morris Adler spoke on "The Role of Jewish
Women in American Life." Assisting hostesses were Muriel Fisher,
Freda Best and Bessie Ginsburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Fishman, of 2945 Webb, are enjoying an
extended vacation in Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Karbal, of Webb Ave., have returned to .
their home after spending the winter months in Miami Beach.
Mrs. C. A. Holub, of Victoria, Tex., was a house guest of Mrs.
B. Breyer, of Mendota Ave., for the past few weeks. While here,
Mrs. Holub, the former Ruth Schlanger of this city, was enter-
tained by numerous friends.
Several Jewish students at Cass Technical High School were
given awards for their art works in the Southeastern Michigan
Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition sponsored by Crowley
Milner & Co. Those honored included Stuart Bratt, Sheldon Iden,
Martin Lipsitt, James Rosen and Barbara Fink.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wolok and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rose
will leave Sunday for New York and from there will sail for
Europe on the SS. Independence. They plan to spend two months
in Israel and in European countries.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cohen and son of 17322 Roselawn have
returned from a four-months' vacation in Phoenix, Ariz., Los
Angeles, Calif., New Orleans, La.. and Miami Beach, Fla.
Sol Wezelinan of Bismarck, N. D., was here this week to at-
tend conferences of insurance commissioners. He represented the
actuary department of the state of North Dakota.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira J. Spoon. of W. Outer Drive, are enjoying
a three-week holiday in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weinberg and daughter, Freda Rose, of

Dr. David Bukspan, Israel Revisionist, visited Detroit last week
to plan with the local Revisionist Chapter the forthcoming visit
in June of Meriahem Begin. former Irgun commander. The execu-
tives of the Detroit group were hosted at a meeting by the Sol B.
Ecielmans. of LaSalle Gardens, S. Chosen on the executive com-
mittee for Begin's visit were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grossman as
secretariat. and Cantor and Mrs. Anton Rosenfeld. Jonas Dworkin,
M. Manuel Merzon, Aaron Weisbrot and Jacob Mohr.
