own for the development of his
grazing project in the Negev. He
is now in the United States to

venture which involves supply-

terials as steel fencing-posts,
barbed wire, wire netting. a for-
age clipper and materials for
storage silos.

Plan to Attract Youth
Is Submitted to Agency

JERUSALEM. 1JTA)—A three-
point plan to attract Jewish
youths to Israel from foreign
countries was outlined to the
JeWish Agency Executive by E. ;
Dobkin. head of the Agency's
department for youth and pio-
neer settlement.
The plait would establish one
year of service in Israel for
youths aged 21 or more who are
it o t affiliated with pioneer
training organizations: pioneer
training in Israel for youths
from abroad wishing to settle
on the land, and establishment
1 • of summer camps here for
youths from abroad aged 16-17.
During Marc h, 4106 immi-
grants entered Israel according
to a report by the Jewish Ag-
ency. Of this total, 1,972 came
from Romania; 1,287 from Iran:
577 from North Africa and 49
from Bulgaria.

of $250.000 for the United Jewish
Appeal was pledged by 500 wo-
men attending a luncheon at
the Hotel Pierre. addressed by
Golda Myerson, Israel's Minister
of Labor.

"Front Line '52," a 10-minute
dramatic campaign film starring
Eddie Cantor and produced by
Paramount Pictures in Holly-
wood under the direction of Irv-
ing , Asher, was released by the
United Jewish Appeal for show-1
ing in communities throughout'
the country.
The picture tells of Israel's
current struggle to "win its war
for economic independence in
1952 just as it won the war for
national independence in 1948"
and calls upon Americans to
"get into the front line in '52"
and supply the free UJA dollars
needed to 'battle it out. not
with swords, but with plough-
shares. -

Frank Weil Named

honorary president of the Na-
tional Jewish Welfare Board,
has accepted an invitation to
serve as the 1952 chairman of
the National Citizens' Commit-
tee for United Nations Day—
