MISS ROSA BEMIS

The PLUS Campaign and We

By BETTY OMERMAN

The Allied Jewish Campaign draws many active workers
who unselfishly devote their spare time and energy to the cause.
Some of these people may be contacting you in the near future.
Who they are, and the reasons they are active, is best explained
by the workers themselves.

Rev. Joseph Kunin, 2661
Webb, on staff of Shaarey Ze-
dek, solicitor for religious
group:
"I like to do something to help
our brothers in Israel. That's
the main reason I am active in
the drive. The Israeli agencies
need all the aid we can give
them."

Samuel Shubo w, 1 9 3 0 2
Washburn, president, Nash
Detroit Co., solicitor
-, in auto-
motive group :
"It's a widespread appeal, it
covers so much that outsiders
don't even know needs atten-
tion, that everyone should get in
and pitch to do their share. I
have no favorite agency since I
feel that the people in charge
know better than I who needs
the most help."
David M. Lieberwitz, 4215
Glendale, owner David's Shoes,
solicitor in retail business:
"I feel that it is my duty to
support the community and do
my share to help the needy. If
conditions were reversed, and I
needed help, I would expect to
get it from the IYJA."

Maurice L. Klynn, 19990
Briarcliff, personnel director
for Federal Department Stores,
on board of mercantile divi-
sion responsible for organizing
drive among retail establish-
ments: -
"It is a good community ef-
fort to get into such a worth-
while campaign. It is a job that
has to be done. The whole local
Jewish program needs support
as well as Israel, which needs to
be strong."
