Mapam Leader Oren
To Be Tied by Czechs

TEL AVIV. (JTA)—Mordecai
Oren, Israeli Mapam leader ar-
rested in Prague on suspicion
of violating Czechoslovak na-
tional security, will be brought
to trial, the Tel Aviv newspaper
Yedioth Achronoth reported on
the basis of a telephone inter-
view with the Czechoslovak For-
eign Ministry.
The newspaper also reported
that the Israeli Consul would not
be permitted to interview. Oren
in jail. It was stated that a
Mapam leader would leave Israel
shortly for Eastern Europe to
attempt to obtain Oren's release.
The executive of the Israeli
Journalists Association has ad-
opted a recommendation urging
the Association to dis-affiliate
itself from the International
Press Association which has its
headquarters in P r a g u e. The
recommendation was made in
view of the fact that the Inter-
national Press Association has
adopted a pro-Communist line.

Milan Jews, Protestants
Protest- Death "-Baptisms

MILAN. (JTA)—Jewish and
Protestant authorities in Milan
have united to 'protest to offi-
cials of this city:; hospitals and
asylums against the practice in
some institutions of forcing
Catholic baptisms on non-
Catholics on the point of death.
The Jewish community has
learned that in .ozie hospital an
old Jew awoke one night to find
a Catholic prie'st' administering
to him the last rites for a Cath-
olic. In another hospital, it was
discovered that a Jewish woman
who died after being in a coma
for 15 days. was baptised and
declared a Catholic while she
was unconscious. -
