Mayor Shragai Honored by City;
Cobo Proclaims Hapoel HaMirachi
Week; Commends Movement's Work

Welcoming the visit in Detroit

upon all citizens to observe it,
to honor the distinguished guest

the movement he represents.
Mayor Cobo's proclamation
called attention to the fact that
1952 marks the 30th anniversary
of Hapoel HaMizrachi. -"Making
note of the principles for which
this movement stands—for To-
rah v'Avodah, for labor and the
Torah principles of social jus-
tice--Mayor Cobo pays tribute
to the movement and extends
honors to the visiting Mayor of
the Holy City.

Mayor Shragai spoke here
twice Wednesday—at a dinner
at Bel-Aire which was fol-
lowed by a public meeting at
the Woodward Jewish Center,
dedicated to the Allied Jewish
Cam paign and the United
Jewish Appeal. Samuel H.
Rubiner, president of the Jew-
ish Welfare Federation, wel-
comed Mr. Shragai who ap-
pealed for unstinted support
of the UJA causes included in
the local campaign.
