At Suburban Temple
To Conduct Seivices

Rabbi Albert G. Baum, direc-
tor of new congregations at the
Union of American Hebrew Con-
gregations, will occupy the pulpit
of newly - organized Suburban
Temple on March 14. He will
preach on "Religion in Our
Times."
Services, which begin at 8:15
p.m., will be held at Tyler School,
Lincoln Rd., in Oak Park.
Rabbi Baum, before assuming
his present post, was rabbi for 12
years at the Alexandria, La.,
Temple, and served as vice-
president of the Louisiana State
Conference on Social Welfare. He
is a member of the executive
board of the Central Conference
of American Rabbis and the New
York Board of Rabbis.

Beth Aaron Synagogue Sets -
$20,000 Dinner-Dance Goal

A goal of $20,000 has been set
by Cong. Beth Aaron for its
second annual dinner-dance and
program, all proceeds of which
will go toward the congregation's
building fund.
The affair, to' be held June 1,
at the Latin Quarter, will feature
the music of Max Leib and his.
orchestra and several dramatic
acts. Jack Schneider is general
chairman.

The annual Men's Club Sab-
bath eve service will be held at
Temple Israel, at 8:30 p. in. to-
day, with Louis
Schostak, vice-
president, giving
the sermon en-
titled "West
Wall."

Temple Israel Women
Plan Judaism Institute

The second _ annual Institute
on Judaism, sponsored by the
Temple Israel Sisterhood, will be
held, beginning at 10 a.m., Mon-
day, at the Temple. Leading rab-
bis from out-state will be fea-
tured on the program.
He a d i n g panel discussion
groups on such topics as Jewish
beliefs, sabbath and holiday ob-
servances, important events in
the life of a Jew and the Jewish
view on Jesus will be Rabbis
Morton M. Applebaum, of Flint,
Alfred E. Friedman, of Lansing,
Herschel Lymon, of Ann Arbor,
and Frank Rosenthal, of Jack-
son.
Church women of all denomi-
nations have been invited to at-
tend, and Mrs. David B. Keywell,
Sisterhood president, predicts an
attendance over 1,000. A lunch-
eon will be served following the
morning session.
Planning the events of the
day were Mrs. Robert Coggan,
interfaith chairman, and Mrs.
Harry Singer, program chair-
man. The Sisterhood choral
group, directed by Karl Haas,
will present several vocal selec-
tions. An interesting series of
ceremonial table displays has
been arranged by Mrs. Reuben
Levine.

appear Monday evening and
Tuesday morning, prior to the
reading of the Megillah (the
Book of Esther) in all local syn-
agogues, to conduct the tradi-
tional Purim collections for the
Jewish National Fund.
