Mrs. Morse Saulson, Chapter
president of Hadassah, in an-
nouncing the Detroit Chapter's
all-day education and American
affairs Institute, states that the
occasion will also serve to honor
Purim, at which time 40 years
ago Hadassah was founded by
Henrietta Szold.
Hadassah, named for Queen
Esther, was so-called because it
was Esther who saved her peo-
ple—and this has been Hadas-
sah's aim. All hostesses will be
garbed as "Queen Esthers" and
the festival spirit will prevail.
The program will begin with
registration at 10 a.m., Tuesday,
at Temple Israel. Afternoon pro-
grams will follow luncheon,
which is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
Both morning and afternoon
sessions will feature concurrent
discussions on various phases of
Hadassah's program.
A workshop on the hothe will
be a highlight of morning ses-
sions, with Mrs. Morris Adler's
group covering three categories.
The education committee is
chaired by Mrs. Max Chomsky
and Mrs. Albert Elazar.
Participants in the education
program on Jewish holidays are
Mrs. Jacob 'Axelrod, discussing
"The Sabbath;-" Mrs. Samuel
Krohn, speaking on "Passover;"
Mrs. Daniel Mandelbaum, talk-
ing on "Hanukah" and Mrs. Emil
Wolok, discussing "Purim."
