Currently visiting Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rubin, of 26681 Hunt-
ington Rd., Huntington Woods are the latter's mother, Mrs. Reu-
ben Standel, of Providence, R. I., and Mrs. Rubin's sister and
niece, Mrs. Seymour Coplin and Susan, of Los Angeles, Calif.
Mrs. Sidney Averbuch, of Cortland Ave., is vacationing in
Miami Beach, Fla.
On Friday, Feb. 29, Mr. and Mrs. Issie Markel of 3316 Elm-
hurst will celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary at a family
dinner with their children and grandchildren.
Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cohen of Windsor on the occasion
of their 54th wedding anniversary, their children and the Cohen
Family Club held a gathering, Feb 13, at the home of their daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Bassin, on Kentucky Ave.
Relatives and friends attended from WindSor, Chatham and
Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol A. Balaban of ,Northlawn Ave. are vacation-
ing in Tucson, Ariz. They will visit their neice, Mrs. Ronald
Block of Tucson.
Actives of Phi Sigma Sigma attended a tea-luncheon party
given by their pledges. Those present were Rhoda Wise, Sallie
Kaplan, Gloria Grenberg, Arnette Weingarden, Joan Lefton, Sere-
na Furman, Carlotte Glazer, Gerry Baskin, Bea Stoffer, Sue Berger
and Shirley Sider.
Mrs. Paul Kaye, of Santa Rosa Dr., and Mr. and Mrs. Burton
Benson, of New York, will return home Saturday, following a four-
week stay in Miami Beach and Coral Gables, Fla.
A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pecherer on their
golden wedding anniversary will be given from 3 to 6 p.m., Sun-
day, at 8940 Dexter, by their children. Relatives, friends and mem-
bers • of several organizations to •which the Pecherers belong will
attend.
Mrs. Gertrude Steingold and her sister, Mrs. Jean Wolfgang
are visiting their father in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. David Krause, of Webb Ave., was guest of honor at a
dinner given by the Goose Cousins Club of L'Aiglon's recently, in
celebration of her golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry J. Greenblatt, of Fairfield Ave., are va-
vationing for a month in Miami Beach, Fla.
At a party given by Ida Shevin at her apartment in., Miami
Beach, Fla., the 60th birthday of William Bailes of Flint, was cele-
brated. The Shevins and Harry Wexler presented him with a cer-
tificate for 60 trees to be planted in the Shevin Forest in Israel.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Belkin, of Boston Blvd., are currently
spending a month's vacation in MiaMi, Fla. Mrs. Belkin's sister,
Rosalyn Handelman, of 3339 Calvert will join them this week.
Mrs. Lionel Gaines of Jacksonville, Fla., visited relatives and
friends in Detroit this week and went on to Ann Arbor, where
her daughter Jan attends the 'University of Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Honigman of Oak Drive are vacationing
in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weiss are back home on Cortland Avenue
after six weeks in Acapulco.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horwitz of Warrington Drive have re-
turned from Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. - Jack Tobin of Merton Road spent a fortnight
at Martinsville, Ind.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Lapides of Pontiac, after spending some
time in Arizona, traveled to Miami Beach for the remainder of
their vacation.

a Purim dance and carnival, an-

man. To be held at the Labor

Zionist Institute, the program
will feature dancing to the music
of Sheldon Roth and his orch-
estra. Nesia Hordes is chairman
of awards, which will be made

during the evening.

Bnai Brith Culminates
and Raising with Dance

As the high point of a suc-
cessful fund-raising drive
throughout the state, members
of Bnai Brith will hold its an-
nual Gala Ball at 9 p.m., Sat-
urday, in the Fountain Ballroom
of Masonic Temple. There is no
Adniission charge, and friends
are invited.
Money raised through t h e
state-wide fund-raising effort
will benefit all of Bnai Brith's -
philanthropies, announced Al-
fred E. Lakin, f u n d - raising
chairman of the Greater • Detroit
Council.
Some of the benefactors are
Bnai Brith Youth Organization,
Hillel Foundations, vocational
guidance program, armed forces
committee, Bnai Brith Center at
Rochester, Leo N. Levi Hospital
in Hot Springs, National Jewish
Hospital . in Denver, Bellefaire
Children's Home in Cleveland
and various Israel projects.

Mrs. Green and Leon Kay Head
Campaign Organization Division

Mrs. Samuel A. Green and
Leon Kay will be., chairmen of
the newly-formed Metropolitan
and Organizations Division of
the 1952 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, Abe Kasle, campaign
chairman, has announced.
Mrs. Green, Detroit president
of the American Jewish Con-
gress, is a member of the board
of the Jewish Community Coun-
cil of the Jewish Welfare Feder-
ation community relations bud-
get and planning division.
One of Detroit's most promi-
nent Zionist leaders, Kay was
1951 chairman of the organiza-
tions division. He is a member
of the board of the United He-
brew Schools and has been
president in Detroit of the Jew-
ish National Fund, American
Jewish Congress and Zionist Or-
ganization.
The metropolitan and organi-
zations division will work with
all of the trades and profession-
al divisions, handling slips of
prospects whom the trades have
found could be reached more
effectively on a geographical
basis.
