Women's Council Gives
Bond Drive a Boost

A dessert luncheon for work-
ers at the home of Mrs. James
Rogin on Wednesday, will launch
the participation of the National
Council of Jewish Women on
behalf of the-Israel bond drive.
Mrs. Theodore Bargman,
chairman of the Women's Divi-
sion of the Detroit Israel Bond
Committee said : "The record of
the National Council of Jewish
Women gives us confidence that
their efforts in behalf of the
Israel Bond Campaign will be
tremendously significant in
achieving our goal—every De-
troit Jewish woman a bond
holder!"
Mrs. Emil Rothman, president
of NCJW, will be the hostess aft
the luncheon. She will be as-
sisted by Mrs. Herbert Eskin,
Council bond chairman, Mrs.
Rogin and Me s dames Earl

tory, promised that each of the
quads would get a complete Jew-
ish education.
Bewildered Joseph Graber, 33,
thought it might be twins, but
news that his wife, Fanny, had
given birth to quads staggered
papa Joe.
"Maybe we can turn our liv-
ing room into a nursery," Gra-
ber told the American Jewish
Press.
The births make Graber the
father of the second set of Jew-
ish quads in this city's history.
Another Jewish couple, the Za-
riefs, are also parents of quads,
born here seven years ago.
Graber, a liquor store proprie-
tor, told AJP that he was ready-
ing his five-year-old son for
Cheder. There are two other
daughters, 4 and 3.
Financial worries for the Gra-
bers were postponed when the
hospital, delighted over the
event, announced it would cele-
brate the occasion by paying all
doctor and medical costs. Five
doctors and a half-dozen nurses
helped usher the four young-
sters into the world.
