JERUSALEM, (JTA)-The Is-
rael Cabinet confirmed the
agreement reached with the
Palestine Potash Company.
The work of the potash plant
maintained by the company on
the Dead Sea was resumed. The
plant has remained idle since
the outbreak of the Arab-Israeli
war.
The Cabinet appointed an in
ter-ministerial committee to
consider plans for the building
of a railway in t h e southern
part of the country. The initia-
tive to have such a railway built
came from the Ministry of Com-
munications. A group of ex-
perts is now engaged in prepar-
ing plans for the development
of communications between the
Negev and the other parts of
the country.

Ban on Israel Campaigns
NEW YORK, (JTA)-The Rab-
binical Alliance of America, rep-
resenting Orthodox rabbis, issued
a statement protesting a recent
ruling of the Council of Jewish
Federations and Welfare Funds
and the Jewish Agethey banriing
all campaigns in the • United
States for Israeli institutions ex-
cept that of the Agency.
The group's executive board
will ask the Agency to permit
heads of Yeshivas to hold cam-
paigns in this country for re-
ligious institutions in Israel. The
Agency will also be asked to pub-
lish a list of Orthodox congrega-
tions and the amounts they have
contributed to Israel institutions.
