Camp Shor, Aurora, Ind., has
come up with a new idea in
practical gifts for the children
"by offering a real holiday treat
for the holidays of Hanukah,
Purim and Pesach. They will
send a certificate announcing
the enrollment in their summer
camp for each of the holidays
(three certificates). The crux of
the plan is that a summer at
Camp Shor is something worth
celebrating and looking forward
to by the children and they will
be reminded of it on each of
these gift receiving occasions.
This method also helps spread
the payments so that parents
can pay in small amounts before
the summer starts and also, be-
cause of the time of making the
payments, feel they are giving
something on each Holiday.
The camp has been in oper-
ation for five years and is limit-
ing its enrollment to 120 camp-
ers. It has an outdoor swimming
pool and is located on the banks
of the beautiful Ohio River.
The camp features Hebrew
cultural activity and emphasizes
the beauties of Jewish living.

At the same time, Dr. Mann
made the first public announce-

munity health program, which
Hadassah will inaugurate in Is-

drastic revision in the training
of Israel's physicians. The pro-
gram was evolved after a long
series of discussions between Dr.
Mann and the medical advisory
board of the Hebrew University
and Hadassah and the national
board of s Hadassah.
The training of new physi-
cians in Israel, Dr. Mann said,
will stress social medicine orien
tation. The curriculum of He-
brew University-Hadassah Medi-
cal School will be so revised, he
said, that the medical student
will first have to study com-
munity health problems before
he is even admitted to the diag-
nostic and curative phases of
his training.
Dr. Mann pointed out that the
new program will be "keyed to
