itual leader since 1929 of the
West Philadelphia Jewish Coin
munity Center, died Dec. 3. Long

and Buffalo.

The 10th anniversary celebra-
tion of Cong. Gemiluth Chasso-
dim will be climaxed by a din-
ner at 7:30 p.m., at the Mayfair
Room. Addresses will be given
by Dr. Leopold Neuhaus, spirit-
ual leader of the congregation,
and Alex Roberg, its executive
director, who is also general
chairman of the affair.
The program will pay tribute
to the founding members, and
a volume featuring a history of
the congregation and a dedica-
tion to the memory of relatives
who perished during the Nazi
regime, will be
distributed.
Founded in
1941 as a Che-
v r a h Kadisha
by immigr ants
from Germany,
Cong. Gemiluth
Chassodim n o w
has over 250
members. Major
activities in-
clude efforts to-
Dr. Neuhaus ward integration
of the members into the larger
pattern of the Jewish and gen-

The dedication volume revives
an ancient 8ustom in German-
Jewish communities of a "Mem-
orbuch" or memorial book. The
edition will be kept for perma-
nent use in the congregation. It
was designed and executed by
Dr, Hugo Mandelbaum.
