Detroit Service Group
Plans Biennial Meeting

Members of the Detroit Serv-
ice Group—workers and contrib-
utors to the 1951 Allied Jewish
Campaign—will hold their bi-
ennial meeting at 8 p. m., Jan.
15, as part of the dedication
ceremonies of the Fred M. But-
zel Memorial Building, where
the meeting is to be held.
Chairmen of nominating com-
mittees for each trade and pro-
fessional division are Harry S.
Cohn, Harry Schumer, Benjamin
Wilk, John E. Lurie. Dr. Perry
Goldman and Paul P. Broder.
Each division will elect a com-
plete new board and officers at
the biennial meeting and will
select 13 members-at-large to
the board of the Service Group.
Harvey H. Goldman, DSG
president, has announced that
campaign workers will work
out, at the biennial meeting,
how the new metropolitan divi-
sion, set up on a geographic
basis, will function.

Acting Secretary in Near East

In celebration of the 100th
anniversary of the birth of I. L.
Peretz, the Arbeter Ring and
the I. L. Peretz School in Wind-
sor are jointly arranging a con-
cert to be presented Feb. 6.
Several prominent artists
from New York will come for
the event, including Israel We-
lichansky, of the Yiddish The-
ater; Masha Benya, singer; Rita
KarpilovitZ; dramatic a r t i s t,
Pola Kadison, pianist.
The talented group will pre-
sent two dramatizations of the
prose-work of Peretz,. and an

selections will also be offered.
