Mrs. Theodore I. Cooper, of 3370 Bloomcrest, Bloomfield Town-
ship, will leave Tuesday for a six week trip to- Bombay, India,
where she will visit with her mother, Mrs. Anna Racek.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel; J. Caplan, of Merton Rd., have returned
from a three-week visit in Mexico where they motored through
the Mexican interior.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blumberg and son, Dr. Jerry Blumberg,
closed their home at 2360 Oakman Blvd., and are leaving for the
entire winter to reside at their Miami Beach home.
Mr. and -Mrs. Sol Kanat of Sturtevant Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Kron of Hartwell Ave. are enjoying a short stay in New
York City at the Waldorf-Astoria.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Krause and son Sheldon, formerly of
Calvert Ave., are now residing at 17166 Wildemere Ave.
Mrs. Abe Silberstein and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Richmond
of Chicago, returned on the Queen Mary after visiting European
countries. Corporal Will H. Richmond, who is stationed in Stutt-
gart, Germany, spent 10 days with his parents and grandmother
in Paris.
Mrs. Aaron Miller, of 18287 Ilene, entertained a group of
Avodah Chapter, Pioneer Women, at the home on Dec. 3. Miss
Elias of the Sherwood Library reviewed "Quiet Street."
In conjunction with the annual donor event of the Sholem
Aleichem Folk Institute, sponsored by the Women's • Division, a
pre-Hanukah party will be given in the home of the Cukerman's
at 3295 Glendale, on Saturday eve. A full evening of entertainment
is being provided.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Docks recently held a party at their home
on Otsego Ave. in honor of their daughter, Lois Adrienne, who
celebrated her sweet sixteenth birthday.
Mr. and. Mrs. Louis J. Gurwin have recently returned from
a seven-week vacation in California and the Hawaiian Islands.
Miss Roberta Bernstein, of LaSalle Blvd., and Miss Ruth
Sherman, of the Park Terrace, have left for Sun Valley, Ida.
Mrs. P. Kantor, of Lowell Dr., has flown to Paris where she
will meet her mother, Mrs. S. Gold whom she hasn't seen for over
30 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Lubowitz, of Ashton Rd. have left for
Havana; Cuba.
Mrs. Morris Weinman, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is visiting
her sister, Mrs. L. Engelman, at the Park Sheraton Hotel.
Mrs. G. Lewis, of Sheraton Cadillac Hotel, has left for Tucson,
Ariz.
Mrs. E. Weinberg of Windsor leaves this week to spend the
winter in Miami Beach.
Mrs. Harry Rosenstein of South Bend, Ind., was in the city
this past week for a visit with members of her family, the Siegels,
and friends.
Dr. and Mrs. Moe Rattner of Baylis Ave. have left for a vaca-:-
tion at Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Atlas of Calvert Ave. have returned
from a stay at Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Handler of Chicago Blvd. are enjoying
a fortnight's holiday in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Brown of Covington Drive are vaca-
tioning in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul SaulsOn of the Wilshire Apts., accompanied
by his sister, Mrs. Rae S. Henry, 'formerly of Detroit, entrained for
Austin, Tex., where they will visit the Elconan H. Saulsons. 'heir
son and daughter-in-law, Ensign and Mrs Stanley Saulson, will
join them at Austin. Ensign Saulson is on leave from the Destroyer
Fechteler, recently returned from Korean waters.

musical scene since his debut
with the Boston Symphony
in 1936, conducts the new De-
troit Symphony Orchestra Fri-
day at 8:30 p.m. in the Masonic
Auditorium. Mitropoulos, musical
director of the PhilharMonic
Symphony Society of New York,
is Greek by birth, American by
adoption, and international in
fame and interests. From 1937
until 1949 he headed the Min-
neapolis Symphony.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lachove
