lowing a visit by Israel's Am-
bassador Abba Eban to the State
Department for a discussion with
Undersecretary of State James
E. Webb which followed up the
meeting of Foreign Minister
Moshe Sharett in Paris with
Secretary of State Dean Ache-
son.
Eban said after talking with
Webb that arrangements for an
American foreign aid program
for 1953 are already under study
and that "our views on what our
needs might be have been con
veyed to the United States." He
emphasized that a "one-year in-
jection" - would not heal Israel's
economic illness. The second in-
stallment of aid, he said, would
coincide with the second year
of Israel's three-year recovery
program.

Agudah Against Israel University
Proposed by Mizrachi Groups

BELMAR, N. J.-7 (JTA)-A -res-
olution opposing the establish-
ment of the Bar-Ilan Univer-
sity in Israel by the Mizrachi
Organization was adopted at the
closing session of the 29th na-
tional convention of Agudath Is-
rael of America, The resolution
emphasized that "leafing rab-
binical authorities in Israel and
in the United States are opposed
to the planned Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity because it will ma k e
dangerous inroads into the
Yeshiva system in Israel."
