Hoover Cites Israel
As Living Example
Of 'Good' Nationalism

NEW YORK - (AJP)-Former
President Herbert Hoover cited
the establishnient of the State
of Israel as a prime example for
700 worldwide youth delegates
of the worth of nationalism as
a "powerful and progressive
force."
Hailing nationalism as "a
spiritual foundation which is
essential to the soul of man,"
Hoover attacked "fuzzy-minded
people who contend that na-
tionalism is an evil and must be
abolished from the earth."
Turning to the Zionist ideal,
the former chief executive told
delegates to the ninth annual
Youth Forum here that "nation- V
alism as a powerful and prog
ressive force has been witnessed
by all of us in the creation of
the State of Israel. We have
seen history written. We have
seen the survival and fruition of
a national ideal which 3,000
years of dispersal and oppres-
sion could not dim."

U. S. Emigrees to Israel
Decry Decrease in Migration

JERUSALEM - (JTA) - The
"alarming decrease" • in the mi-
gration of Jews from the United
States to Israel was decried
here at the national conference
of American Jews who have set-
tled here permanently.
The speakers also deplored the
fact that numerous American
Jews, who came from the United
States to become permanent
residents of Israel, are returning
to America following a short
stay here.

Court Bans Harlan Boycott
