-Mrs. Lenore Kamins, formerly of Webb Ave., now is residing
in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lappin have returned to their _Sturtevant
Ave. home after a visit with members of their family in Grand
Rapids.
Mrs. Charles Robinson of Calvert Ave. has returned from a
visit East where-she visited, with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Beryl
Robinson.
Gerald Tenenbaum, son of Mr. Max Tenenbaum of Monterey
Ave., has left for the Coast Guard training station at Alameda,
Calif. One of the "Jerry's" oil paintings is currently on exhibit
with the Michigan Artists' Show, at the Art Institute. -
Mrs. Maurice Landau of W. Outer Drive is expected back this
`week from a stay at Martinsville, Ind.
Michael Sumner of Windsor addressed the Jewish community
of Petersboro, Ontario, on behalf of the Jewish Welfare Federation
this week, and will continue to spend several days in Toronto be-
fore returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Rosenthal of Burlingame Ave. were hosts
to the latter's sisters from Philadelphia this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Onkin of Oakman Blvd., on the occasion
of their son, Ronald Harvey's bar mitzvah, entertained 100 guests
at dinner at Temple Israel. Out of town guests included Mr. and
Mrs. I. Golden and Mr. and Mrs, Robert Goltzman,eall of New
York, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Greenfield of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mendelson of Allen Park are leaving this
week for a vacation in Coral Gables, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Goodman of the Highland Towers have
returned from a visit with their daughter and family in Los An-
geles.
Mr. and Mrs.' Morris Disner, of 19344 Monica, have left to
spend the winter months in Miami, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Kaplan, of Pleasant I3r., Ypsilanti, en-
tertained- at a dinner party for 25 relatives and friends in honor
of their wedding anniversary, and to cebrate the homecoming
of Mrs. Kaplan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Weberman, of Penning-
ton Dr., Detroit, The Webermans recently returned from a five
month tour of Europe, North Africa and Isi-ael.
Sandra Slobin recently celebrated her sweet sixteenth birth-
day with a luncheon and fashion show for her friends in the
Statler Hotel Terrace Room.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Payson, of Chicago Blvd., had as house
guest over Thanksgiving Miss Helen Capriles, of Curacao, Dutch
West Indies.
The American Haven Club was entertained at a luncheon by
Mrs. Fred Katz, of Tuxedo Ave.
Mrs. David Kaatz and family will honor the 75th birthday of
David Kaatz with 'a reception from • 9 to 11 p.m., Saturday, at the
Lee Plaza Hotel. No cards _ .

Joseph Cohen, of 18679 Santa Barbara, is spending the winter
with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Morton Cohen
and their children, Joel and Deborah, at their home in Lakewood,
-South Jacksonville, Fla.

of London, England, announces
the marriage of her daughter,
Gerda, of Oxford, to Warren- Ro-
vetch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Rovetch, of Oakman Ct. Mr.
Rovetch flew to Oxford where
the couple was married on Nov.
25. They met while he was do-
ing graduate work at -Balliol
College, Oxford University. Up-
on their arrival in this country,
they will reside in Washington,
D.C. where Mr. Rovetch works
for 'the Department of 'Economic
Analysis of the War Stabiliza-
tion Board.

ard L. Wolson, son of Mr. Sam
Wolson, of 3331 Carter. Rabbi
Joshua S. Sperka officiated.
Gloria Mae Kent! was maid of
honor, and bridesmaids were
Mrs.. Rozline Zimmerman, Ger-
aldine Zeitlin, Rhoda Fishel, and
Dorothy Lutrin. Nancy Kahn
was flower girl.
Richard Schubot was best
man, and ushers included Alex
Zimmerman, Donald. Lee Field
and Harry' S. Kert.
For her wedding the bride -
chose a gown of ivory chantilly
lace oyer . dahess_satin. Itwas
featured by tapered sleeves,
fitted bodice and yoke of illu-
sion, with appliqued beading.
Her scalloped fingertip veil of
illusion was held in place by a
beaded 'crown. She carried or-
chids with stephanotis and ivy
streamers.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the young couple left to
honeymoon in Chicago. On their
return they will reside at 3808
Tyler.

Junior Hadassah Party Will
Benefit Israel. Children's Village
Junior HadaAah, will hold a
gifts for Meier ,Shfeyah party
at 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the home
of Edna Horowitz, 13221 LaSalle.
Young women in the commun-
ity interested in attending and
helping a worthy cause, are re-
quired to bring medicaments or
toys, which are urgently needed
at this children's village in Is-
rael.

As a result of the -success of
previous Institutes of Adult
Jewish Studies at Adas Shalom
Synagogue, a number of courses
are 'offered during the current
winter season, according to
Rabbi Jacob E. Segal, director
of the Institute and Max Biber,-
chairman of the adult study
committee.
Courses currently in progress,
are in Hebrew, Israel and Jew-
ish Prayer. The courses in He- .
brew are being taught by Alex
Roberg, of the United Hebrew
School. and Mrs. Harold Good-
man. The lecture course on Is-
rael is being instructed by Al-
bert Elazar, of United Hebrew
Schools.. The course in prayer, a
d e m o-n str a ti on and lecture
course; is conducted by Rabbi
Segal. . -
Beginning in January, a study
of great Jewish novels, and in
February, psychiatry and re-
ligion, will be added to the In-
stitute. Current sessions began
Nov. 27, but registrations a r e
still available.

Frohman Sings New Opera
Roles With Verdi Opera
Don Frohman, concert and
opera baritone, who is beginning
his fifth season with the Vtirdi
Touring Opera Company, will be
heard in two new opera roles as
Lord A s h t on in Donezetti's
"Lucia Di Lamamoore" and the
name role in Verdi's Rigoletto.

LOUIS D. BRANDEIS LODGE,
Bnai Brith, will meet at 8:30-
p.m., Tuesday, at Beth Aaron.
Synagogue. On Dec. 18, new
members will be initiated by the
lodge's Degree Team. The Bran-
deis minstrel show will be pre-'
sented, under the direction of

Boy Scout Troop 533, spon-
sored by_ the Department of
Michigan Jewish War Veterans,
will entertain two other Boy
Scout -troops at the JWV Me-
morial- Home on Wednesday.
One of the troops is an all-
