Miss Berman is a graduate of
Wayne University, and Mr. Gor-
don is a graduating senior. The

One hundred and fifty boys
and girls of high school age
from Michigan, plus five dele-
gates from Ohio, assembled in
Detroit to atend the Michigan
State Temple Youth Conclave
held at Temple Israel, and co-
sponsored by Temple Beth El
last weekend. Members partici-
pated in Friday night services
and discussions.
The program included an
Oneg Shabbat after Friday ser-
vices, Saturday. discussions on
"Judiasm In Comparison to other
Religions in the World"; Satur-
day night dinner dance with
Phil Gaberman's orchestra; a
Sunday morning session on the
"High School in Action;" and a
final parting brunch.
Out-state guests were housed
by the Detroit contingent. James
Sheppard, Marcia Kleinman and
Sandy Johnson were in charge
of arrangements. Sandy, daugh-
ter of Mrs. M. Johnson of Mar-
lowe Ave., hosted Ruth Dick-
stein of Flint.
Two of the delegates from
Jackson, Betty Ann Rosenfeld
and Ruth Heuman, were house
guests of Judy Horwitz, daughter
of Mrs. J. Horwitz of Oak Drive;
and Barbara Levin, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hoke Levin of
Burlington Drive, respectively.
Carol Compner and David
Katchka, both of Pontiac, were
guests of Cheryl Hubar, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hu-
baf - of Huntington Woods, and
Peter Gould, son of Mr, and
Mrs. Arthur Gould of San Juan
Drive.

Bnai Moshe to Form
Bar Mitzvah Group

Formation of a sub-committee
for the organization of a Bar
Mitzvah Club and breakfast for
parents of Sunday school child-
ren has been announced by Mit-
chell Feldman, vice-president of
the congregation and chairman
of the school board.
The Bar Mitzvah Club will be
open. to boys over 13, for Sun-
day morning prayer, breakfast
and social program. The Sunday
morning breakfast will be open
to parents while children attend
Sunday school. The social por-
tion of the program will con-
sist of an outstanding speaker
on a current subject with au-
dience participation.
The sub-committee will have
as chairman Maxwell M. Lowe
and Albert Goldman, with Mar-
vin Weinsteiu, co - chairman.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman will act
in a consultive capacity. The
United Hebrew Schools, the
Men's Club and Sisterhood are
cooperating with the sub-com-
mittee on both projects. Further

Abraham will hold its installa-
tion dinner at 6:30 p.m., Tues-
day, at Lacher's on Dexter. Rab-
bi Israel I. Halpern will install
the following:
Mesdames Betty Ellenbogen,
president; I. Singer and M. Gold-
smith, vice - presidents; Dora
Shpiece, J. Lenhard, secretaries.
New officers will continue the
group's main activity of send-
ing food and clothing packages
to Israel. Over 12,000 such pack-
ages have been sent to date to-
gether with the charity fund of
the congragation.
At a recent installation of
congregational officers, new in-
ductees were Louis Kukes, hon-
orary board chairman; Louis El-
lenbogen, president; Hyman P.
Weller, vice - president; Ben
Zucker, treasurer; Edward Rice,
secretary. Rabbi oJseph Thumim
spoke for the congregation, and
Julius Perry for the Men's Club.
Rev. Jacob Landgarten was in
charge of dinner arrangements.
On Nov. 28, the Ladies Auxi-
liary of the First Galician Society
were installed by Rabbi Halpern.

Goldberg, president; Regina Pil-
linger, vice-president; I. Fischer,
treasurer; and George Waldren
