Louis Rabinowitz of 18491
Wisconsin, who lived for a year
in Israel and studied conditions
there at first hand, is advancing
a plan for the establishment of
a "Model City" for the settle-
ment of a group of Detroiters.
Contending that such a city
can be built on a modest basis
by people with moderate means,
Mr. Rabinowitz offers to .meet
with those interested and to
plan fulfillment of the project.
He expressed the hope that once
such a city is established *by
Detroittots, Jews in other com-
munities will similarly establish
model cities in Israel.
"I feel that by abandoning
party labels, by working unit-,
edly, we can accomplish a great
deal for Israel," Mr. Rabinowitz
stated. 'We are suffering today
from split personality problems
and from divided efforts. I am
confident that by uniting in sup-
port of a project to settle a
group of Detroiters in Israel on
a modest basis we can help the
Jewish state. I hope those in-
terested will communicate with
me regarding my plans."
