Dreams

We saw it through and on we
fought,
Our eyes were to the stars:
"He sleepeth and He slumber'd
not"
Away with threatening bars! -

And then a thunderbolt crashed
down
And blotted out our view.
The dreams were dreamt, the
songs were sung—
And yet I saw it through.

She is still with me, I dream of
her
In day dreams and at night; .
Her life a blessing and a truth—
I see a greater light!
