ADL Heads Reject Maclver
Recommendations at Parley

ATLANTIC CITY (AJP)—The
35-member National Commission
of Bnai Brith's Anti-Defamation
League this week soundly re-
jected the Maclver Report, an
NCRAC-sponsored study which
would lessen the ADL's role in
combatting anti-Semitism in
America.
The Commission instead urged
all national Jewish organizations
in the community relations field
to strengthen their "voluntary
form of organization" in order
to have the greatest impact in
fighting anti-Semitism.
The Commission declared that
acceptance of the Maclver Re-
port would "violate the volun-
tary nature of Jewish communal
organizations."
ADL attacked what it termed
the "tight and neat control"
suggested in Dr. Robert Mac-
Iver's report.

A former basketball star at
Central High School and Law-
rence Tech, Sam Lieberman, is
now associated with Jerry Biel-
field, Ford sales and service, at
6845 Michigan, four blocks west
of Livernois.
Lieberman, who lives at 3227
Elmhurst, had the distinction of
being chosen a member of the
all-state basketball team while
at Lawrence. He is still an active
participant in the game, serving
as coach for Bnai David in the
Synagogue League and the Bale
Post of the Jewish War Veterans
in the Jewish Center League.
While in service, Lieberman
also played for the Selfridge
Field, Richmond Air Base and
Fort Devens service teams. After
his discharge from the army, he
entered the pro league where his

berg, Mass., Syracuse, N.Y. and
