Washington Synagogue
Ransacked by Vandals

WASHINGTON, (JTA) — Met-
ropolitan police reported that
both the Washington Jewish
Community Center and the new.
Adas Israel Synagogue were en-
tered by intruders.
A first floor window was forced
at the community center, desk
drawers were opened, papers
scattered, doors smashed, and
the place was ransacked. Edward
Rosenblum, director of the cen-
ter, said nothing was stolen and
described the break-in as the
work of vandals.
Two doors were jimmied at the
new $1,500,000 Adas Israel Syn-
agogue which was dedicated last
week-end with congratulations
from President. Truman.
