`Lucky Kid, Lucky Bat!'

Philadelphia Housewife Flays Laxity of Kashruth

PHILADELPHIA (AJP) - Re-
current complaints against al-
leged laxity by Jewish delicates-
sens selling kosher meat prod-
ucts developed here again with
a second letter in as many weeks
to the Jewish Exponent charg-
ing storekeepers with duping
housewives.
The latest complaint charges
storekeepers used "kosher neon

signs yet sold non-kosher deli-
catesen meat." In many in-
s t a n c e s,
the complainant
charged, Jewish style meat, not
kosher prc'iucts, were passed off
on housewives.
Another complaint was that
kosher products were being
placed on the same counter with
non-kosher meats and that the
same slicer was used by delica-
tesen proprietors.

the sandlots of a DP camp in
Germany, where he learned the
language of the American boy,

Season's Best Wishes

LONDON, (JTA)—Reports re-
ceived here from the Jewish
community of Morocco paint an
appalling picture of living con-
ditions of many Jews. Some
250,000 Jews are living in pov-
erty, disease and despair, the
reports state, adding that 19 of
every 21 children are suffering
from trachoma, while only half
of all the newborn children have
a life expectancy of ten years.
A lack of finances has drastic-
ally reduced the emigration pro-
gram, while the OSE is finding
it impossible to cope with the
thousands who need medical
care, the reports assert.
