Reconsecrate London Synagogue

LONDON, (JTA)—The Liberal
Jewish Synagogue in Saint
Johns Wood which was partial-
ly destroyed by German bombs
in November, 1940, was reconse-
crated today. Some 1,000 wor-
shippers and distinguished
guests took part in the cere-
monies. The building has been
fully restored. Doctor Leo Baeck,
president of the World Union
for Progressive Judaism, partici-
pated in the services. Guests in-
cluded city officials of London
and members of the Sephardic
and United Synagogues.

At the end of the American
Revolution there were 43 news-
papers in the colonies.
