Iraq Recognizes Israel;

Ben-Yehucla, widow of the late
Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the Hebrew
lexicographer, died here, aged
78. Born in Lithuania, she
studied in Moscow and emigrat-
ed to Palestine in 1892. She was
one of the first Hebrew author-
esses in Palestine and for over
30 years assisted her husband in
his monumental 'Thesaurus of
Ancient and Modern Hebrew.
She is the author "of a volume
of short stories and of a biogra-
phy of her son, Ittamar Ben Avi,
noted Jerusalem editor.

WASHINGTON, (JTA) -- The
first recognition of the existence
