Difficulties Encountered
By. Romanian Immigrants

Direct JTA Teletype Wire to
The Jewish News

TEL AVIV - The Romanian
Liner Transylvania again
brought only 768 immigrants in-
stead of at least double this
number in previous voyages.
Newcomers reported intensive
representations were currently
b e i n g made to Romanian
authorities for improving the
sy stem which they claim is
responsible for small numbers of
emigrants reaching the embar-
kation port in time for sailing.
They insisted the Romanian
authorities lately notified chos.--
en emigrants only two or three
days prior to their scheduled
departure which does not give
them enough time to settle per-
sonal affairs, with the result
that only those who definitely
liquidated their business elect
to board the ship at Constanza,
where great numbers remairrbe.,
hind. A hundred families among
Tuesday's arrivals were directly
transferred to two Maabarots.
