Dr. and Mrs. William V. Kerwin and daughter, Barbara, of
2948 Webb Ave., are spending two weeks at Yellowstone ParK.
• Mr. and Mrs. Max H. Cohen of 2417 Highland Ave., will cele-
brate their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 19, at
the Northwest Hebrew Congregation and Center. Friends and rela-
tives will esather from various parts of the country to join in the
occasion. The Cohens were married in Manchester, England, and
have lived in Detroit for 40 years. Mr. Cohen is a retired merchant.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Falk of Stoepel Ave., have returned from
visits East and with their daughter, Nancy, at Camp Tamakwa,
Algonquin Park, Ontario. Nancy will be home from camp next
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kay will return next week from a tour of
Canada and the New England states. Their son, Barry, will be
home the end of the week from North Star Camp.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Prag are vacationing in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allender and family, formerly of Monica
Ave., are now residing in their new home at 19352 Lauder.
Preceding her marriage on Aug. 26 to Alton Bruce Rader,
Sally B. Press has been entertained by Mrs. Nate Bronstein, a
luncheon at Franklin Hills Country Club; Mrs. Lil Willens and
daughter, Bernice Allen at Detroit Yacht Club and by her aunt,
Mrs. Irving Weinstock. Other entertainments have been given
by Mrs. Harry Clarke and daughter, Paula; Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Sandler, Mrs. L. Rader, Mrs. Adolph Fox and Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Rader.
Dr. and Mrs. Milton S. Taubman (Ilene Bennett) of Oklahoma
City, Okla., are visiting with friends and relatives in Detroit and
Windsor.
Mayor and Mrs. Albert E. Cobo were house guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry H. Weinbaum at their summer home in Charlevoix for
a week. Several dinner parties were held in honor of the Mayor
and many Detroiters visited them during their stay there.
Mrs. Samuel Layne and sons, formerly of Detroit, are visiting
here from New Mexico.

Mrs. Irving Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Ralford Goren, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lasky, Mr. and Mrs. Albert

Mrs. Samuel Gaylord, of Beverly Hills, Calif., has left for her
home after being a house guest of Dr. and Mrs. A. Alan Agree,
of 19740 Caterbury, for the past two months. During her stay she
was entertained by Mesdames A. Alan Agree, Nathan Fishman,
David Fishman, Harry Grossman, Ben Levinson, Nathan Schreiber,
Morry Schreiber, Morris Baron, Sam Feldman, George Feldman,
Charles Goldberg, Morton Newlander, Marvin Kahn, Samuel
Blondy, Charles Blondy, Allen Blondy and David Barnett.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Schmier of Sherbourne Road have returned
from a trin. to Montreal and Quebec. Their trip included the
Saguana.y River cruise.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Aaron of Oakman Blvd. are returning
from Israel this week. They visited France, England, Italy, Switzer-
land, and Greece, but spent most of their time in Israel.
George Kerwin of 2948 Webb., has returned home after a
month's vacation motoring along the Pacific Coast.

physician here, has worked out
a new treatment for arthritis
which involves the use of a drug
which can be produced cheaply
to substitute for the costly hor-
mone cortisone. It is expected
that Dr. Rose will soon receive a
grant from the government or

tinue his work.

tered with orchids on a prayer-
book.
Mrs. Dick Goldsmith, sister-
in-law of the bride, was matron
of honor, and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Andy Schlesinger, Mrs. Bur-
ton Nanes and Mrs. Harold Gold-
smith.

Miami, Fla. Ushers included
