A recent exodus of Jewish
youngsters in Europe and North
Africa, off to summer camps un-
der the auspices of the Joint

in JDC's vacation program, will
enjoy fresh air at mountain or
seaside resorts under the sum-
mer-camp project, made possible
through United Jewish Appeal
funds. JDC funds also help pay
travel expenses and • mainten-
ance in the summer colonies as
well as medical care and educa-
tional guidance for the young
vacationers.
During the past four years
more khan 50,000 youngsters
have enjoyed JDC summer vaca-
tions. This number included
15,000 in 1947; 15,500 in 1948;
11,80Q in 1949; and 10,800 in
1950.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Birnkrant of West Seven Mile Road have
returned from a brief visit with son, Melvin, at Camp Interlochen.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Nichamin of Santa Barbara Drive were
in Detroit for the past week before returning to their cottage at
Tawas for the remainder of the summer season.
Miss Zelma Rosenthal is spending a few weeks with her sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barnett of Pontiac, be-
fore returning to her position in Syracuse.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lieberman of Pinehurst Ave. were hosts
to the latter's mother, Mrs. Arthur Sternau, and to Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Langsdorf, all of Philadelphia, the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Elbinger, of London Ave., are vacationing
at Pine Ridge Lodge, Bobcaygeon, Ont.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving V. Windt, and sons, Jack and Allan, are
moving to Sarasota, Fla., where they are building beach apart-
ment units on Longboat Key. Jack -will attend the University of
• Tampa.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jaslove of Steel Ave. spent the week-end
in Port Clinton, 0., visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jaslove.
Mrs. Rae Solomon of Boston Blvd. is visiting her children Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Frank of Omaha, Neb., who have just become the
parents of a baby girl.
Mr. and Mrs. William Shulak and family, formerly of Ohio
Ave., are now residing in their new home at 17608 Fairfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sachs, of Richton Ave., entertained members
of the Mogen Abraham Men's Club in their home Monday on the
eve of their departure for a month vacation in Los Angeles.
