Mrs. Frank, Congress Delegate

To honor Mrs. Max R. (Clara) Frank as a Hadassah delegate
to the World Zionist Congress to be held in Israel, Mr. and Mrs.
,Sam Brody (left), of Muirland Ave., on the eve of her departure,
presented Mrs. Frank with a check, the sum of which will make
another bed available for the new Hadassah Hospital under con-
struction in Jerusalem.
Mrs. William B. Isenberg (right), Chapter chairman of the
Hadassah Medical Center, advises that Mr. and Mrs. Brody's
names will be inscribed in the "Wall of Healing Book," in which
full inscriptions about the donor of .the gift and the individual
being honored will be on display. Also on an actual wall built of
the rich, honey-colored stone of Jerunlem, there will be set a
huge two-sectioned plaque, on which Mrs. Frank's name will be
inscribed. A plaque will be placed in the new Hadassah Hospital
and Nursing School about Mr.. and Mrs. Brody's generous gift.
Mrs. Frank, a former president of Detroit Chapter and Region,
is one of the 32 delegates of Hadassah to the Congress, out of a

Hadassah's national convention in Atlantic City Sept. 16-19.

Jewish Dupes of Peron Propaganda

The Argentine Ambassador to the State of Israel is spending

some profitable weeks in Argentina. Very profitable indeed for

Peron. The Ambassador is calling on Jews soliciting contributions
for Peron's presidential campaign. Of course they don't dare to
refuse. Evita is uniquely successful with her charity racket and
her husband, whom she recently called "God," is no -less adept in
extracting sacrifices for his benefit.
Peron has advanced the election date. The economic situation
Is worsening. The-church has grievances. She wants to control
education. The army is still opposed to Evita.
The Jews are more jittery than ever. They know that after
the elections Peron will have to curb labor's evergrowing appetites.
Peron has been too lavish. There is even some fear of pogroms.
Some Jews are casting longing eyes at Uruguay.
In the meantime Peron is imposing a gangster regime on the
Jewish community. He employs the same technique as the Soviet
Union which forces the leadership of communists, no matter how
insignificant they may be in number, on the Jews in all Iron Cur-
tain countries. The organization of Jewish Peronistas is composed
of the scum of the Jewish community. Peron ignores the legiti-
mate Jewish bodies and gives conspicuous preference to the Jewish
Peronista organization. If a Jew wishes to be naturalized he must
submit his application to the Peronista organization. To the
honor of Argentinian Jewry it must be said that all 'self-respecting
Jews shun the Peronista organization.
•In the meantime, Jewish newspapers throughout the world
publish the handouts of the Peronista organization—not realizing
that they are dupes of Peron's propaganda.

There seems to be a slogan in certain Jewish circles: When
in doubt call in a goyish referee. I wonder why the Catholics
or Episcopalians don't call in a Jew for the settlement of their
internal disputes? Wouldn't he be so much more "objective" than
any of them?

"This amorphous mass can be
brought to assist Israel, but it is

Dr. Silver criticized the fact
that there are 20 political parties

Political partisanship in Israel

He urged that Israel be built as

Notes on Maclver Report

It seems that NCRAC is making a serious mistake by post-
poning publication of the Maclver report.. The defense problem
is of such general crucial importance that the widest public dis-
cussion should be invited. Grave problems of strategy and policy
are involved which should not be determined by a limited number
of people. The chairman of ADL has lashed out against the report.
Lewis H. Weinstein, a member of NCRAC, has defended the Pro-
fessor against what he considers an unfair attack on the report.
ThiS time the professor is the accuser and Judge Meier, Steinbrink,
ADL chairman, is sitting on the defendant's bench. In any case
it seems to me that the Judge had no right to express himself
publicly on the report while he is a party to an agreement to
withhold its publication for the time being. NCRAC will not bene-
fit from the confusion which thus is being engendered.
We suggest to Mr. Weinstein, other members of NCRAC and
leaders of the defense agencies, Jewish community councils, etc.,
to reread Ginsberg's "Agenda for A ' Jews." They will dis-
cover that both gentlemen were strivi be objective but that
Ginsberg's study is much more profound.
The fact is that the religious and nationalist elements are
so poorly represented in NCRAC that it has become an over-
whelmingly assimilationist body. Of all religious organizations
only the Union of American Hebrew Congregations sits in NCRAC.
This is not an attempt to condemn the Maclver report in toto.
It contains some valid and valuable suggestions. On certain points
Ginsberg and Maclver indeed agree. We are not impressed by the
angry outburst of the chairman of ADL, which merely indicates
his lack of Wisdom and discipline. Judge Steinbrink knows that
there is a great deal of duplication between ADL and American
Jewish Committee. It is high time that this wastefulness be
ended. Overdue reforms may be hoped for because a goy now says
