Long before the formation of the first Jewish congre-
gation here a little over 100 years agd, men of that faith had
been closely identified with the life of Detroit.
But it was with the establishment of that first group of
ten that the contribution of the Jew in Deroit to tlw city's
musical life may be said to have begun.
