Louis James Rosenberg of the Belcrest Apartments Hotel left
for a 10-day trip to New York.
Mrs. Sidney Weisman, president of Northeast ORT Chapter, is
expected home shortly following a visit to ORT schools in Europe,
Israel and the Teachers' Training Institute at Anieres.
Sixteen couples were the guests of Beverly Lubin in celebra-
tion of her sweet sixteen birthday, June 30, at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Lubin, of 1942 Euclid, who tendered
the celebration.
Mr. and Mrs. George H. Ellenstein and their sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Samuels have left for an
extended motor trip through the East where they will visit Atlan-
tic City, Maine and stay in the Adirondack Mountains.
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Zeldes (Erma Averbach), formerly of
10223 McQuade, are now residing in‘ their new hOme at 20150 Ard-
more Ave.
Reva Kowalsky, Betty Kowalsky and Jerome Stasson presented
pupils in a recital Sunday at the Jewish Center.
Mrs. Simon Shetzer has returned from a visit with her rela-
tives in Columbus, 0.
Mrs. Isadore Sweet was hostess at a luncheon at her Leslie
Ave. home for members of the Rachel Laya Stepaner Aid Society.
The occasion honored Mrs. Abraham Sheinbaum, a past president
who is visiting here from California.
Estelle Weitzman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Weitz-
man, on June 22 celebrated her sweet sixteenth birthday with a
party for 50 guests at Northwood Inn.
Mr. Martin Cohen, of Elmhurst Ave., celebrated his 50th birth-
day on June 24, at the engagement party of hiS daughter, Maxine
Beverly, to Donald Benyas.
In honor of their daughter Rhoda, who graduated from Wayne
University last month, Mr. and Mrs. Max Kaine, of Santa Rosa Dr.,
were hosts at a reception.
Mrs. Melvin Kopple of Parkside Ave. is spending several weeks
in Kingston, N. Y., as the house guest of her uncle, Dr. Samuel
Stern.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Bernstein and family of Oak Drive
have taken a house in Charlevoix for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rafelson of Oak Drive had as their house
guests the past week-end Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Kollenberg and Mr.
and Mrs. I. Wetman of Grand Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. H. Z.
Arold of Ann Arbor, all here to attend the annual fund raising
event of the Rafelson Post Auxiliary.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Marwill of Pennington Ave. have left
for a fortnight's holiday at Buzzard Bay, Mass.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Glasier and daughters, Mary and Dorothy,
of Birchcrest Dr., left for New York this week to sail on the S.S.
Independence for an eight weeks' tour. Their itinerary includes
London, Holland, Switzerland, France, Rome, and a cruise to Israel.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lewis of Pilgrim Rd., .Birmingham, are
spending the month of July in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Friedman of Canterbury Rd. are spending
a fortnight in Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris E. Bloomberg and their sons, Gerald,
Michael and Donald, formerly of Glendale Ave., have moved to
their new home at 18055 Fairfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lacs of 3036 Tyler celebrated their 24th
anniversary at Greenbush Inn.
