Israel Parliament National Conference for Israel
20 23
Adjourned July 4 Bonds in Washington, Sept.

A Pairfait Among Borscht Recipes

-

JERUSALEM, (JTA) —

Is-
rael Parliament decided to
- adjourn on July 4 until after
the new parliamentary elec-
tions on July 30. The Par-
liament may be reconvened
by its presidium or by the Is-
rael Cabinet only in cases of
emergency.
Prior to adjournment,
Parliament discussed a bill
on popular insurance intro-
duced by the government.
The first stages of this bill
provide for state insurance in
cases of death of bread-earn-
ers in the family, maternity,
or on reaching old age.
Final results of the elec-
tions in Israel to the World
Zionist Congress probably will
not vary from the final bal-
lots. T h e pro - government
Mapai Party received 282;722
votes, or 48 1,1.. percent of the
total votes cast. The pro-
Soviet Mapam party received
21 1,4 percent; Mizrachi, 12
percent; Herut, 11, and Pro-
gressive party 5 percent. The
remainder went to small
groups.

With warm weather on hand, I. Rokeach & Sons provides a
goodly number of unique and tempting culinary findings in a new
booklet titled, "Cool Summer Recipes."
Two borscht recipes in the illustrated booklet promise to be
favorites in the Jewish home. A parfait; (illustrated above), made
with frozen borscht and chilled sour cream; makes a delightful
combitiation for sultry days. A vegetable salad ringed with a
jellied borscht mold is a nutritive and delicious dish.
Included in the recipe brochure are Old World gems to spark
disinterested summer appetites. Original cooking formulas have Israel Spends Loan in U. S.
