Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Jackson of Hendrie Boulevard left for
Worcester, Mass. this week to attend the former's class reunion at
Clark University. They will proceed to New York City before
returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Kaplan of Whitmore Rd., returned last
week from a six weeks' vacation in - California.
Mr. and Mrs. William Isenberg of Edison Ave. had as their
house guests, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gilbert of Cheviot Hills, Calif.
and Mrs. Max Isenberg of New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Lewis Zuieback of Cambridge Rd. have re-
turned from a fortnight's stay in Martinsville, Ind.
Mr. I. Friedman, former- Detroiter now residing in the San
Fernando Valley, Calif., Was in the city this week to visit with
various members of his family.
Mrs. M. E. Berezdivan has returned to Havana, Cuba, after
spending the spring months with her daughter and son-in-law,
Mr: and Mrs. Perry Phillips of Stratford. Rd
Bill Wetsman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wetsman of Boston
Blvd., has returned from his studies at UCLA for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Sacks of Merton Rd. were hosts for
several days to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goldberg of Chicago, MU. who
are en route to New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Modell of Manderson Rd. were honored
at a reception and dance at the Book Cadillac on the occasion
of their 40th wedding anniversary. Hosts were their children,
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Modell, Mr. and Mrs. M. Fishman, Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Modell, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kaplan, and Mr. and Mks. Saul
Kalt.
Dr. and Mrs. John Horwitz and daughter, Rhoda, of Oakman
Blvd. entrained for Atlantic City this week to attend the American
Medical Association convention.
Shirley Barnett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barnett of
Whitmore Manor, has returned for the summer from Northwestern
University, Evanston, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Dann of Burlingame Ave. are en route to
Kansas City, Mo. to visit their brother, Dr. David Dann.
Mr. and .Mrs. Myren Landsberg of Concord Rd. were hosts this
week to their sister, Mrs. Sam Popkin of Cleveland.
Royal Maas of Cambridge Rd. has returned from a brief stay
in Charlevoix.
Judy Mayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Krolik of Chi-
cago Blvd., has returned from Colby College, Waterville, Maine.
Dick Shwayder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder of
Fairfield Avenue, and Irving Keene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Keene of Cambridge Rd., will leave for air service at Mitchell
Field, New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Ascheim have returned to Cincinnati
after a fortnight's visit with their sister, Mrs, Harry Conheim of
Lawton Avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lipsner and daughter, Roberta, of Grand
Rapids were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Smith of
Oak Drive.

Merna move to San Diego, Calif., were affairs by Mesdames Lilyan

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Mills, of 20425 Steel, will hold open
house in celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary, from 2 to

publication commemorating De-
troit's 250th anniversary, written
by Milo M. Quaife, and published
by the Wayne University Press,
is on sale in all book stores.
Quaife, an historian of note,
is the author of several books
and articles on Detroit and
Michigan. He was assisted . by
William White, journalism pro-
fessor at Wayne, who edited the
book, and G. Alden Smith, also
on the staff of Wayne, who de-
signed the volume.

Concerto Recital Saturday
Edward Bredshall will present
the first of two concerto recit-
als on Saturday, 8:30 p.m. In the
lecture hall of the Institute of
Arts.

summer Mardi Gras at 8:30 p.m.,
Saturday, June 16, in the Syna-

The Summer Mardi Gras is
the first event to be jointly
sponsored by these two leading
youth groups of the Shaarey
Zedek. Co-chairmen are Mari-
lyn Hershenson, of the YPS, and
Madlyn Walrauch, of the alum-
