Temple Beth El, Bnai Moshe Graduate
Classes in Week-End Ceremonies

Graduation exercises will be
marked by two Detroit congre-
gations this week, while other
commencement programs will be
observed throughout the month
of June.
At Cong. Bnai Moshe, reli-
gious consecrants will receive
diplomas at 10:30 a.m., Sunday,
in the synagogue auditorium.
Graduation of Temple Beth El
High School youths will be held
at 8:15 p.m., tonight, at the
Temple.

Walter Farber, director of the
Bnai Moshe school, will distrib-
ute diplomas, and Eugene Weiss,
president of the Men's Club, will
present white - covered Bibles
with the name of each conse-
crant appearing in gold.

A cantata written and direct-
ed- by Mrs. Ma lee Floch, "The
Tapestry of Judaism," is the
theme for the '-,:casion. Partici-
pating in the program will be
Rabbi Emeritus Moses Fischer,
Rabbi Moses Lehrman, Cantor
David Katzman, Weiss and
Mitchell Feldman, religious
school board chairman.

OffiCers of the class are Elaine
Iczkovitz, president; Shirley
Pfeifer, vice-president; Evelyn
Parsky, secretary; and Bernice
Kogan, treasurer. A reception in
the banquet hall will follow ex-
ercises.

Graduates of Temple Beth El
will be greeted by Dr. B. Bene-
dict Glazer and Rabbi Sidney
Akselrad. Bertram E. Shapero
is class valedictorian.

Dr. Max Winslow, chairman
of the religious school board,
will present Union Prayer books,
as gifts of the Men's Club, and
will present awards to Barry E.
Safir, the Felix Winsen Medal
for leadership; Kenneth Bron-
son and Bertram Shapero,
scholarship medal for all-A rec-
ords; Joe Alexander, Kenneth
Bronson, Johanna Frankel,
Adele M. German, Sandra Gil-
bert, Babette Kahn, Richafd

Beth Aaron Planning
First Dinner Dance

Plans have been completed by
Beth Aaron Synagogue for its
first dinner-dance at 7 p.m.,
June 17, at the Latin Quarter.
Mickey Woolf and his orchestra
will furnish the music, and there
will be several entertaining acts.
Preceding the dinner will be
an installation of officers recent-
ly elected by the congregation.
Rabbi Gorrelick will be installing
officer. Rabbi and Mrs. Morris
Adler, of Cong. Shaarey Zedek,
will be guests.
The dinner-dance is under the
chairmanship of Jack Schneider,
whose co-chairmen are Joseph
Feldman, Laurence W. Friedman
and Avery Shapiro. Hy Green is
in charge of the program, and
Joseph Feldman will handle
tickets.
