At Pioneer Women's
Membership Dinner

at the annual dinner meeting of
the United Hebrew Schools, at
Congregation Adas Shalom, on
Tuesday evening, -June 5.
In addition to the annual re-
port to be submitted by the
president, Abe Kasle, the meet-
ing will hear the educational
report, to be presented by Albert
Elazar, associate superintendent
of the schools.

For Synagogue Parley

The principal address in hon-
or of Mr. Isaacs will be deliv-
ered by Dr. .1!, M. Hershman,
his co-worker during the 31
years of his direction of the
schools' , activities. Mrs. J. H.
Ehrlich will preside.

Mrs. Morris. (Emma) Schaver
will be the soloist. Mrs. Schaver
participated in the operettas
written by Mr. Isaacs which
were staged by the schools -un-
d e r the eminent educator's
direction 27 and 28 years ago,
at Orchestra Hall.
Harry Cohen is chairman of
the arrangements committee for
the dinner, reservations for
which area being taken at the
office of the schools in the Rose
Sittig Cohen Bldg., TO. 8-0063..

Campaign Rally June 1 to Honor
Fathers and Sons in Allied Drive

Detroit Council of Pioneer Wom-
en on June 4, at Bel-Aire Ter-
race.
Dr. Feder is one of the seven
founding members of the Pio-
neer Women, and is on the
Organization's national execu-
tive board. She is also chair-
man of the Southwest Region in
the United States.
A graduate of the University
Of Chicago, Dr. Feder received
training in the social sciences at
Columbia University, and re-
ceived her MA and PhD degrees
at the University of Missouri,
at which she is a member of the
sociology department. -
The name of the new Pioneer
Women's Chapter in Detroit,
Which will raise to 14 the num-
ber of chapters in the city, will
be announced, and the chapter
will be officially installed. Also
to be installed are the officers
of the Council.
Completing the activities, ban-
ners will be awarded to all
chapters which have member-
ships of 25. or more.
A distinguished personage at
the banquet, Who will appear as
a guest, is Dr. -Klara Periberger,
one of Israel's outstanding psy-
chologists, who is in the United
States as Israel's representative
to a conference on children and

youth.

report meeting, 12:15_ luncheon,
Friday, June 1, in the Crystal
Ballroom of the Book Cadillac
Hotel.
"We want-to demonstrate the
continuity of our community ac-
tivities," Abe Kasle, campaign
chairman, said, "and we are go-
ing to honor the families who
have enlisted at least two gen-
erations in campaign work."

National, Local Leaders to Honor
Bernard Isaacs at Dinner June 5

In conjunction with the first
Michigan Conference of t h e
United Synagogue of America,
late Friday evening services will
be held at Cong. Shaarey
the host congregation, today at
8:15 p.m. Following the service
a round table discussion will be
held in the social hall on "To-
morrow's Judaism."
Rabbi Morris Adler will be
moderato r. Participants are
Rabbi Hillel Rudaysky, Bay City;
Rabbi Philip K i e v a 1, Benton
Harbor; and Rabbi Gershon
Winer, Grand Rapids. A recep-
tion will follow.,
On Saturday services will be
held at. 9 a.m., and Rabbi Ger-
shon Winer will be guest preach-
er.
'Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar
will officiate at both services
with the choir under the direc-
tion of Dan Frohman.

Beth Aaron. Plans First
Annual Dinner Dance

Beth Aaron Synagogue will
hold its first annual dinner-
dance at 7 p.m., June 17, at the
Latin Quarter. Mickey Woolf
and his orchestra will furnish
music and entertainment will
be offered.'
Rabbi Morris Adler, of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, will be guest
speaker. Newly elected officers
will be installed by Beth Aaron's
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick.
Jack Schneider is chairman,
and will be assisted by Joseph
Feldman, Laurence Friedman
and Avery Shapiro, co-chair-
men; Jack Shenkman, tickets;
and Hy Green, program.
