`Over the Top' in Campaign

American Red Mogen Dovid
Sends Blood Bottles to Israel

As part of a long-range pro-
ject designed to unify the entire
blood program of Israel, the
American Red Mogen Dovid for
Israel, 225 W. 57th St., New York,
functioning in support of Israel's
official agency for Red Cross
work, announced the shipment
of the first of a consignment of
bottles for blood. The bottles are
being shipped via the Israel
steamer S.S. Akko.

prominent Americans, including

To Elect Delegates
To ZOA Parley

The Zionist Organization of
Detroit will hold a continua-
tion of its annual meeting
on Monday evening, at the
Zionist H o u s e, Linwood and
Lawrence. There will be an
election of delegates to the Zi-
onist Convention to be held in
Atlantic City, from June 14 to
17. Important reports of the
year's work will be given.
A. C. Lappin, president, urges
all members to attend and par-
ticipate in the election of dele-
gates to one of the most import-
ant Zionist conventions ever
held. •
The annual Zionist membership
project is scheduled this year for
Sunday, June 24. Called Z-day, it
is being led by Samuel Feldstein
and Ben M. Lewis co-chairmen.
The large committee of work-
ers will meet at breakfast and
proceed to various city districts
to visit Jewish families and ac-
quaint \them with the aims and
aspirations of the Zionist Or-
ganization of America.

Honorary Degrees

Honorary degrees will be con-
ferred on five leading Ameri-
cans by Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion at
commencement exercises in Cin-
cinnati and New York next
month, Dr. Nelson Glueck, presi-
dent, announced.
Receiving the Doctor of He-
brew Letters degree will be
Bartley C. Crum of New York,
Judge Joseph M. Levine of New
York, and Dr. Selman A. Waks-
man, New Brunswick, N.J., scien-
tist. The Doctor of Divinity de-
gree will be awarded to Comdr.
Joshua L. Goldberg of New York,
and Rabbi S. Felix Mendelsohn
of Chicago.
