To Use 'Good Offices'
For Israel-Arab Peace

G. Browdy, president of the
Zionist Organization of America,
addressed a strong plea to Pres-
ident Truman "to use his good
offices to the end that a firm
and lasting peace be concluded
between the• State of Israel and
its Arab neighbors."
Speaking at a meeting of the
ZOA, national administrative
council, at the Waldorf Astoria
Hotel, the Zionist leader assert-
ed that the sense of joyousness
on the occasion of the celebra-
tion of Israel's third anniversary
is tempered by the war-like at-
titude of the Arab states and
by the fact that "the state of
Israel is still far from resting
firmly on its foundations and
is seriously in need of the
world's and of our own aid."
The meeting approved a mo-
tion to convene the 54th annual
convention of ZOA June 14
through 17 at Atlantic City.
