ish champion Botvinivk in the
17th game of their match at the
Tschaikowsky Concert Hall in
Moscow.
The victory came after 36
'moves and left the rivals on
even terms with scores of 8 1/2
points each. Each has won three
times in the current series and
11 games have been draws.
There are 24 games in the
series to determine the world
titleholder.
Israel Deputy Detained
Six Hours in Visa Mixup
NEW YORK - (JTA) - Arieh
Ben Eliezer, Herut member of
the Israel Parliament, and his
wife were held for six hours on
Ellis Island following their ar-
rival here by plane, and were
released after intervention by
the Israeli consulate.
Immigration authorities said
that Ben Eliezer, a former lead-
er of Irgun, had a transit visa
when in fact he needed a visi-
tor's visa because he intended to
remain in this country for sev-
eral weeks. This is the second
time in 16 months that Ben
Eliezer, who came here in behalf
of Shelach, an American organ-
ization which aids Irgun vet-
erans' rehabilitation in Israel,
has had American visa difficul-
ties.
Catholic Charges Denied

raeli spokesman denied allega-
tions that the Jewish state "seri-
ously interferes with Catholic
activities" in this country by not
granting visas for a permanent
stay in Israel.
The charge was contained in
a statement allegedly made in
Rome by Monsignor MacMahon,
head of the Pontificial Mission
for Relief in the Middle East.
The Israel spokesman pointed
out that Israel does not yet have
a nationality law regulating the
admittance of foreigners who de-
sire to become permanent resi-
dents. However, he pointed out,
pending enactment of such reg-
ulations the Israel Government
has "freely granted" visas to the
clergy.
