have such a lot of money!"

ALTHOUGH SUFFERING from
a slight cold and cough, Bernice
Stocker went to a neighborhood
theater, last week, while hubby,
Emil, was in Chicago . . . Before
leaving, she reached in her
medicine cabinet for a box of
cough drops and dropped the
package in her purse . . . As al-
ways happens when one goes
forearmed, she didn't cough at
all .. . but the lady in front of
her did • . . Tapping her on the
shoulder, Bernice offered the
woman a drop . . . The cougher
took it gratefully and coughed
no more . . . Later that night,
the solicitous Bernice opened
her medicine cabinet . . . There
lay the cough drops ... In utter
panic, she rushed to her bag ...
In it was a box of Vigoro tab-
lets, those pellets you drop in
with the flowers and pray
they'll grow . . . The thought. of
what she had done to the movie
cougher was intolerable . .
Calling druggist Sam Farber, she
asked frantically if it will hurt
her . . . and Sam replied, "No,
but it may 'make her sick. You
fed her two spades full of ma-
nure."

Morton A. Silverman Post, JWV,
purchased 400 tickets . . . and,
we are told, were among several
other JWV groups to lend a
helping hand in support of the
show.

After the class was over, Rab-

great he asked. the domestic
why she, a non-Jew, was at-

replied. that her employer was
extremely busy and, therefore,
asked her to come and take
notes in her stead.

THE DO'S AND DON'TS of a
clean community need your full-

this column's Clean-Up Cam-

JUDGE CHARLES RUBINER
tells a story related to him by
attorney Norman Romm . .
Two old friends met on the
street . . . After being greeted
with "Hello Jake," one replied
that his name was no longer
Jake . . . that it was now C. R.
Dexter ... His friend asked why
the name. Dexter, and was told,
"Because I'm living near Dexter,
of course" . . . The friend in-
quired, "But why C. R.?" ... and
the newly-titled gent replied,
"Because I also live near the
corner of Rochester."
