The Latin Club planned a
special birthday party in honor
of Rome's 2,704th birthday which
is April 21. A special cake with
all the trimmings was made by
Dr. Kovach, the club's sponsor,
and a program was planned by
club members for the benefit of
other Latin students whom the
club invited. For an extra added
attraction, Ilsa Lowy and Joan
Spivakow edited a Latin news-
paper with jokes, puzzles and
stories which was distributod to
all Latin students. Both party

Mrs. Abe Kroll and her brother,
Morris Kroll, by Mrs. Jack Torf,
Mrs. Kroll's daughter, Tuesday,
in celebration of their depart-
ure for a three-month stay in
Israel. They will leave aboard
the LaGuardia on Tuesday.
Israel will not be a new ex-
perience for Mrs. Kroll, who
lived there as a young girl and
was married there. Since com-

Mrs. Kroll and daughters have
returned in 1935 and 1937.

During the last two weeks
Mumfordites have endeavored to
make themselves the best dress-
ed and most easily identified
students in the city. Almost
everyone has ordered some - of
the many articles of apparel
that the High Y boys are helping
to sell.
These items are white crew
hats with appliqued blue and
maroon school initials, boys'
shirts in maroon and white with
"Mumford High" stamped on
them, white-capped sleeved 'T'
shirts similarly marked for the
gals and grey sweat shirts- with
an insignia.
The Mumford Parents' Club
sponsored the sale. Just watch
out for the snappy dressers that
will appear in three weeks when
all the orders are filled.
