In response to queries dealing
with the kashrut of Service for
Israel food parcel s, the New
York office has published a de-
tailed account of the source of
foodstuffs for its hundreds of
thousand donors. The report
says in part, "we buy most of
th, food outside of the U. S., es-
pecially in Europe. In doing so,
we are assisting the transfer of
blocked Jewish funds used part-
ly for payment of our foodstuffs,
and in addition, we are concen-
trating our purchases to such
countries where the expenses for
purchase and freight are lower
than this country.
