Anglican Missionaries Quit
Israel Since Arab Dispersal

LONDON, (JTA)—Virtual ter-
mination of missionary activi-
ties of the Anglican Church in
Israel was announced in a state-
ment issued by the Church Mis-
sionary Society.
The statement said the Mis-
sionary Society "always consid-
ered work among the Arabs its
primary responsibility and, in
"consequence of the wholesale
dispersal of the Arabs, its work
in Israel has come largely to a
standstill and its institutions in
Jerusalem, Jaffa and Lydda
have ceased to function."

Israel, U. S. to Hear
Simultaneous Program

A unique radio project will be
officially launched at 12:30 p.m.,
Sunday, April 15, when the Na-
tional Broadcasting Co. in the
U. S. and Kol Zion, World Zion-
ist Organization station in
Israel, simultaneously transmit
the first of a series of three
Eternal Light Festival programs.
Detroiters will hear the pro-
gram transcribed a week later
at 8 a.m., Sunday, April 22, over
station WWJ.
The festival series is produced
in Israel under the auspices of
the Jewish Theological Semi-
nary, announced Dr. Louis Fin-
kelstein, Seminary president.
The initial broadcast, sched-
uled in observance of Passover,
was written and produced in
Israel by Sylvia Berger, Eternal
Light radio writer, with a staff
of Israeli professional and tech-
nical personnel.
American listeners will hear
The drama . in English, while
audiences to Kol Zion in Israel
and in the Middle East will hear
the program in Hebrew and
English. Kol Zion network will
translate the program into var-
ious languages for shortwave
broadcasts to North African and
European audiences.
