Harvard Prof. to Speak
In Wayne Franklin Series
Dr. Gordon W. Allport, profes-
sor of psychology at Harvard
University, will be the fourth
speaker in the Wayne University
series of Leo M. Franklin Lec-
tures in Human Relations. He
will speak on The Resolution
of Intergroup Tensions—A Criti-
cal Appraisal of Current Meth-
ods" at 8 p.m. Thursday, in the
Rackham Memorial auditorium.
Former head of Harvard's
department of psychology, Dr.
Allport is now a member of its
department of social relations.
He was formerly a faculty. mem-
ber at Dartmouth College and
Robert College, Istanbul, Tur-
key.
During the war, he was co-
founder of the Boston Herald
Rumor-Clinic; an institution de-
signed to track down wartime
rumors and to expose their
sources and fallacies. He was
also chairman of a committee
on propaganda analysis and
public safety, and a consultant
to the Foreign Broadcast Moni-
toring Service.

Rabbi Adler to Speak
At Final Program of
Yiddish Culture Series
The final Yiddish cultural pro-
gram, sponsored by the joint
Yiddish culture committee of
the Jewish Community Council
and the Jewish Center, will be
held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the
Woodward Jewish Center.
Under the co-chairmanship of
Benjamin Laikin and Jay Rosen-
shine, an interesting, education-
al Purim program has been
planned.
Rabbi Morris Adler, of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek and chairman
of the culture commission of the
Council, will speak in Yiddish on
"The Wisdom of the Book and
the Wisdom of Life." Samuel
Segal, director of the Detroit
orkmen's C i r c l e Schools, is
chairman and will introduce
Rabbi Adler.
Norman Drachler will offer
readings from Sholem Aleichem's
"De Gold Schpinne." The Cen-
ter dramatic group, with Sarah
Freedman, will present Aleich-
em's "The Two Gifts," under the
direction of Moishe Haar.

Again Combine Operation
A Young Judaea camp for
teen-agers will again be con-
ducted for two four-week peri-
ods at Tel Noar Lodge, Hamp-
stead, N. H., beginning June 27.
For the second consecutive sea-
son, Camp Tel. Naar, the teen-
age camp sponsored by the Eli
and Bessie Cohen Foundation,
in cooperation with the New
England Zionist Youth Corn-
mission, will combine as one
unit with Camp Tel Yehudah,
the national senior camp of
Young Judaea.
