Shaarey Zedek to Observe Its
90th Anniversary in the Fall

Dr. Leonard Sidlow has been
named chairman of a committee
to plan the celebration of the
90th anniversary of Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek, to take
place in the Fall of 1951.
Announcing the appointment
,f Dr. Sidlow, vice-president of
the congregation, Judge Charles
Rubiner, president, stated that
a number of religious and social
gatherings will be planned to
mark the event.
As a tribute to Dr. A. M.

Hershman, Rabbi Emeritus of
the congregation, Shaarey
Zedek will publish a volume
containing a selection of ser-
mons delivered during his 40
years of spiritual leadership of
the Congregation. A history
Of the congregation will be
written by Rabbi Morris Adler
for publication during the cel-
ebration.

Temple Israel Observes
Purim Family Service

Members and friends of
Temple Israel have been invited
to bring their children to the
Purim family Sabbath Eve serv-
ice tonight at 8:30.
A choir composed of pupils of
the Intermediate Department of
the Religious School, directed by
Mrs. Manuel Epstein, will render
a concert of Purim melodies.
Rabbi Leon Fram will preach
on "The Revival of Purim."
In honor of Council Sabbath,
to be observed at this service
by the Detroit section of Na-
tional Council of Jewish Wom-
en, Mrs. Lewis Daniels, president
of the local chapter, will greet
the congregation.
Dr. and Mrs. Irwin Weisen-
alai will serve refreshments in
honor of the B a r Mitzvah of
their son, Herbert.

of 1125. Its afternoon Hebrew
Department has 500 pupils and
it:- Beth Hayeled and Kinder-
garten now has a total of 106
boys and girls, 3 to 5. Adult
classes attract 400 to 600 weekly.

Congregation Beth Moses has
obtained the services of Rabbi
Isadore Chneebalg, who is a
graduate of Mirrer Rabbinical
College and Columbia Univer-
sity, holds a Master's Degree in
sociology, and who served a con-
gregation in Harrisburg, Pa.
The congregation will sponsor
a Young Men's Club, a choir,
a Ladies' Auxiliary, and a Sun-
day School.

Religions School Teachers Join.
In All-Day Institute on April 1

For the first time in the his-
tory of Detroit's educational ac-
tivities, a 11 religious school
teachers will join in a city-wide
Religious School Teachers' In-
stitute on Sunday morning and
afternoon, April 1, at Adas Sha-
lom (N.W.) Synagogue. It is
planned to suspend classes in
participating schools to enable
the teachers to take part in the
institute, the program for which
will be as follows:
