ZOA to Sponsor 2-Year-Old Jerusalem Hebrew Exams Blumberg, Krolik & Rubiner Named Associate Chairmen of Allied Drive All Divisions of 1951 Drive Begin Year's Solicitations Irving W. Blumberg, Julian H. Krolik and Samuel H. Rubiner have been named associate chairmen of the 1951 Allied Jewish Campaign, it was announced this week by Abe Kasle, general chairman.• The three leaders are, respec- tively, chairman of the Service Group, chairman of the ex- - ecutivel committee and president of the Jewish Welfare Fed- Chop House, as guests of the division's sponsoring committee. The sponsoring committee in- cludes: Samuel Rubiner Irving Blumberg eration. All have for years car- ried many burdens in Federa- tion and in Allied Jewish Cam- paigns. The drive has7' taken a spurt: in the past few . days. Many gatherings have been arranged preparatory to actual solicita- tion of funds in all divisions --the trades and Julian Krolik professions, women's and juniors. Lapides, a Detroit attor- ney who served with the Recon- struction Finance Corporation prior to World War II, achieved h i s military commission in Counter - Intelligence, attached to the U. S. Eighth Air Force during the war. In November 1949 he assumed the direction of "Operation Magic Carpet," made possible by funds from American Jews through the United Jewish Appeal — major beneficiary of the Allied Jewish Campaign—in which giant Sky- masters transported nearly the entire Jewish community in Ye- men, on the Arabian peninsula, to Israel.
