People who wish to send used clothing which is thoroughly clean and serviceable condition may do so themselves by mailing packages, up to 22 pounds in weight, and paying the postage. The maximum charge is $3.90. Such packages, addressed to Mrs. Dov Joseph, chairman, Ma- terial to Israel Committee, Jer- usalem, Israel, will be cleared without customs and distributed by government authorities to the thousands of people still liv- ing in the immigration camps. The items most needed are blankets, sweaters, coats, shoes, jackets, warm jeans, pants, skirts, underwear, stockings, rainwear, infants and children's warm clothing. In case the individual has only clothes for children, packages up to 44 pounds may be sent to Child and Youth Aliyah Depart- ment, 4 bis Rue de Lota, Paris, 16e, France. The postage in this case is 14 cents per pound and must likewise be paid by the in- dividual sender. Library The religious schools of six congregations in cooperation with the Midrasha will sponsor a Teachers' Institute on "The Teaching of Prayer" at the Northwest Hebrew C o n g. o n Sunday morning and afternoon, April 1. The Institute, first of its kind in Detroit, will feature a lec- ture by Rabbi David Cedarbaum, supervisor of the Board of Jew- ish Education in Chicago. The program also includes round tables conducted by representa- tives of the various schools, a special session on audio-visual aids and a discussion of teach- ing standards in Detroit. Participating congregations in addition to Midrasha include Beth Aaron, Bnai Moshe, Beth El, Israel, Northwest Hebrew and Shaarey Zedek. Brandeis University in Wal- tham, Mass., this week received - an addition to its Walt Whit- man collection from Charles Feinberg, 872 W. Boston Blvd., in the name of the Detroit Chapter of the Women's Com- mittee . for Brandeis University.
